Good bye 2013

I am so thrilled to say good-bye to 2013.  This was a rough year for me and my family.  I have had some tough times in life but this year was throwing things at us left and right!  The one thing I can say was a true blessing was Origami Owl.  I am still new to this but loving every minute!  I get excited to share the jewelry with others and love meeting new people.  It is also a huge joy to see people approach me who already have a locket and share their story.  It's funny because I find most people have lockets filled with meaningful things.  My lockets are constantly changing and are usually just fun things for the moment.  The basketball game that is on......my team is in my locket.  Just out on the town.  Something to match my outfit.

We have a seminar/training/convention coming to Columbus this January.  I have no idea what to expect.  I am hoping it will keep my motivation alive and help me learn more about how to be in direct sales!

Happy New Years everyone!  GOOD-BYE 2013...I do not want to see you again......HELLO 2014 and the adventures to come!!!!

A creation

I almost forgot I promised to share this amazing necklace my sister-in-law created.  I really like the floating plate and all the birth stones as gems.  The picture is not great....but it is what I could do at the time!!!

The end of 2013

What a YEAR!  My personal life has had a rough year however starting with Origami Owl was one of the best decisions I have ever made!!!   I am having fun, it is not difficult and I have tons of jewelry to play with on my free time.  I work full time as a social worker during the week and have two small children.  I really did not think I had any extra time to work.  Origami Owl is so fun I do not feel like I am working.  I have also been very lucky to sign under an amazing group of women.  My mentor has walked me through everything and also helped me by inviting me to events.  We have enjoyed doing events so much we try and always do them together then split the orders up!  How great is that!

I will say after this crazy year, I am ready to say good bye to 2013 and I am really looking forward to a fantastic 2014!!!!

December...December...December

Wow.....December is crazy but now working for O2 it has made it even crazier.  I spent this weekend helping a hostess deliver her jewelry and it was so much fun seeing the lockets come to life.  I am going to get some pictures to show everyone!!!!  It is AMAZING to watch people create beautiful jewelry...I also enjoy receiving great compliments on my jewelry!

Is anyone reading my nonsense?

November Rocks

Things I am Thankful for this month:

1.  The Hallmark Channel:  I have never really watched it until now, and have found myself sucked into the wonderful holiday girl movies.  I can not get enough!

2.  Origami Owl:  Something I started about 2 months ago!  Totally out of my comfort zone and joining was very impulsive.  I jumped on this journey b/c  I LOVE it and have to tell others about it.  For selfless reasons:  it lets me wear all the jewelry all the time and I can change it up!  I know it makes my hubby nervous b/c I keep buying stuff but I am having soooo much fun!  It has been hard getting on my feet and talking to others, however, it does seem to get easier day by day!

3.  My Mentor Molly!!  One of the best things I have done is signing under Molly for Origami Owl.  I have been wanting to do Direct Sales for a long time but could not find the right "match"  I had met Molly through mutual friends and really enjoyed her.  When she shared with me that she was selling Origami Owl I jumped.  She has truly helped me through the process and has always been there for me.    She laughs at me when I compare her to my "Big Sister" as a Kappa Delta in college.  Someone I can go to, trust and helps me through the process.  I do not think I would have stuck with this without her her encouragement!

4.  My amazing family!  Jeff, Sloane and Cait have dealt with me being MIA on the weekends so well. We work as a team to make this family work and hopefully can benefit from the extra income!

5.  Siblings:  Wow what can I say.  They sucked it up and had my "Launch" party for Origami Owl.  Which takes a lot of work and energy.  The support I have received has been amazing.  I really enjoy watching my nieces get into my jewelry when I visit and start making lockets.   They tell me information about the product and help me sell.....AMAZING!!!  Thank you so much

November

Wow what a month this has been.  I am starting to get pretty excited about this new adventure!  There has been a learning curve with how the new database with Origami Owl works and how you get paid.  I have been soooo lucky to sign under an amazing person who is also a friend.  She lives fairly close so it has made things pretty easy.  She has also been very helpful by letting me shadow or inviting me to share events with her.  The one thing I have learned about events....People swarm the Origami Owl table and one person is not enough!  Yes we have to share the commission but it is worth it because customers get better service!

I am excited to see where this will take me.....I hate being new and learning the ropes, but every day I am feeling more and more confident about everything!

Jewelry Bar Success!!

I had my first two jewelry parties and they were both a great success!  I am feeling better with the talking about the jewelry and getting to know all the amazing things Origami offers!  I am not someone who typically steps out of my comfort zone to start something new but I am so happy that I did.

I hope everyone I meet through this journey loves Origami Owl as much as I do!!!!

Bitter Sweet

I am supposed to be thrilled and nervous tonight.  My launch party for Origami Owl is tomorrow and I have a Jewelry Bar Saturday.  All week I have been going through my things making sure I have what  I need.  I am taking my two young daughters with me to stay with family.  So packing bags and trying not to forget anything.  Then out of nowhere my precious 14 year old dog Reagan was not doing well.  Today we woke up to some "surprises" around the house.  We booked a vet appointment and learned she had kidney disease and it was very advanced.  We had to make a difficult decision and say good-bye.  Saying good-bye to a friend who has seen you through thick and thin for 13-14 years is the hardest thing to do.  I feel lucky and honored she chose us to be her parents.

So while I deal with my grief and loss I must pick myself up and prepare for this busy weekend of family and friends and playing with jewelry.  I am going to make a locket to wear this weekend in honor of my amazing four legged friend Reagan.  It will tell our story without me saying a word.

November is here!!

Well I finally found a decent picture of myself for all my profiles!  Hope Jeff does not mind he is a part of it  :)

November is here which means Origami Owl has launched their new database for all the designers as well as the bracelets should be available at anytime!!!  I am sooo excited about the new bracelets I can not can not wait to get my hands on them!  I love both of them.  The locket that lays flat on your wrist and the other dangle bracelet.    Way too many choices!

I really have been enjoying getting to know Origami Owl and how the company works and getting comfortable knowing the products.  It can be so overwhelming but I keep reminding myself to give it time.

Halloween

Happy Halloween!  One of my favorite holidays!!  Storms are getting ready to roll through Ohio which is putting a huge damper on our activities for tonight.  We are trying to make the best of it by having family and friends over.

Friday Night

What do I do for fun on a Friday night?  While Jeff is watching the Blue Jackets and the kids are snoozing, I am checking out my shipment that arrived of my new business cards and charms!!!  I am very excited.   I did notice I forgot the most important charms....OSU letters and color gems!  What was I thinking...I was so busy thinking of all the Kentucky crew and ordering WKU and UK letters I forgot Ohio.

I also got on Shutterfly and made a photo book with lockets in it to share at parties or events.  I know what you are thinking....Megan is a ball of fun!  The older I get the more I enjoy the quiet of my house and relaxing with the hubby!

An article I found about Bella

http://www.forbes.com/sites/karstenstrauss/2013/10/22/250-million-for-a-14-year-olds-big-idea-origami-owl/

What a great article I found regarding the founder of Origami Owl...Bella!  The journalist is a little tough about being a "designer" for company and working in Direct Sales.  I have not done it long enough to have an opinion.  So far I have found everyone very helpful and people have really enjoyed the jewelry.
